About the Event

Welcome! We're excited to invite you all down for an evening of conversation and connection at Star Anise to share ideas and ask the simple question: can you help us bring them to life? Can you help us build the network we need to launch our radical education project here in Stroud, y'all are the radical soil of the community here after all. We need help finding space to run sessions, networking with the community, eldership and much more!

What we have is ideas and a deep conviction to our generation's struggle for the living world, for the reflorishing of the human spirit and for justice. In this struggle we believe education is essential, the chance to meet, dialogue and connect - to exchange ideas and push forward the traditions of resistance into which we are stepping - yet we are systemically denied both access to such spaces and any true forms of education. This is what we are here to build, a space for youth activists to come and learn - to break away from our suicidal schooling and connect in the transformative relationships of solidarity from which true liberating education springs.

^that might all sound like a lot but thats the point of this event - for us to talk through our ideas, y'all to ask lots of questions and us all to work out how we can walk forwards together.

Running order looks like:

  • 6:30 - Door's open and free Daal for dinner! The cafe will be serving teas, coffees and cakes as well :)
  • 7 - Starting with check-ins and groundings
  • 7:15 - Presentation about the project and space for questions
  • 7:40 - Discussion
  • 8:00 - Break for Cake!
  • 8:15 - Commitments and Next Steps
  • 8:50/9 - Closing the session and Goodbyes

We've got space for about 25 people so please reserve if you're planning to come along and buzz us any questions on - we look forward to bringing our ideas to you all and hearing your thoughts,

Love and Power!

PS. if you want to hear about some of our thinking check out Robin's (he's one of the team) speech on the necessity of challenging schooling:
